I just had a quick scan of the day’s events on www.news.com.au, which gleefully reports that – according to Lonely Planet – England is “celebrity obsessed and full of junk food”. On the same page of the Aussie news site the following stories appeared:

“Horrifying new burger dumps the bun” KFC introduce a bacon and cheese burger which has two deep fried chicken breasts instead of bread. “In the grips of an obesity epidemic, Australians did not need any more fattening burgers” Dr Rosemary Stanton said.

“Twitter Milestone” Lady Gaga is the first person to pass the 9 million followers mark.

“Private Party” Prince William holds his stag night at a private estate.

“Show Buzz” Mariah Carey rushed to hospital on her 42nd birthday.

I could go on but you get the point.
