incontro

Had dinner last week at the excellent “incontro” restaurant in South Perth. Very nice place – stylish, relaxed and fantastic views across the river to the city. I was surprised to see “beef wellington” on the menu – I thought this dish was only served in old-fashioned gentlemen’s clubs in Pall Mall. And even there not since about 1913. Anyway, I ordered it and was instantly converted – what a fantastic dish! Tender fillet steak cooked in a light pastry surround…a bit like the world’s classiest meat pie (and at $45 a pop it would want to be).

So thumbs up for incontro. Great place – not cheap mind you but I wasn’t paying so that was just perfect…

Unlike
